About our China Adoption Program
Reputation
a. Christian Agency
We are a Christian non-profit adoption agency where prayer and Scripture
reading are an integral part of each weekly staff meeting. We believe that adoption is not second best. It is
simply one way that God in His wisdom can choose for us to be parents.
Whether one becomes a parent biologically or through adoption, children are
a gift from God (Psalm 127:3).
b. Reference list
HOPE for Children has been recommended directly by the CCAA to many
adoptive families searching for a China adoption agency in Georgia. We can
provide an extensive list of family references to help you make an informed
choice about which agency is right for your family.
c. Adoption Advocacy
HOPE for Children initiated the HOPE for Children tax credit which allows
families to afford adoption, in fact the tax credit is named after our
agency. We continue to advocate for families and children.
d. Years of Service
We have been helping adoptive families adopt from China since 1996 with a
solid track record. Additionally we have an excellent reputation with the CCAA and have remained in high standing with them since 1996.
e. Service and Standards
Customer Satisfaction is a priority at HFC. Many families adopt through
HFC after having used a larger adoption agency for their first adoptions.
Through a recent survey of our families who adopted between March 1, 2005
and December 31, 2005 100% said they would recommend HFC to their friends
and 100% said they would use HFC again if they chose to adopt again.
Organization
a. Program Options
HOPE for Children has six (6) programs from which to choose. We believe
that families want and need choices when considering adoption.
b. Structure
Our agency is small allowing for individual personal contact with each
family. We are organized to be flexible allowing us to meet the challenges
and changes in adoption programs, processes and laws.
c. Executives
Our Executive Director, Dave Malutinok, is an adoptive parent with extensive
experience in the field of adoption. He was HOPE for Children's first
Executive Director and was fundamental in establishing the China program.
Dave is on the Advisory Board for the Congressional Coalition for Adoption
Institute. Traveling abroad, Dave has made many international
adoption-related trips with members of Congress. In 2002, he flew to
Beijing and met with China's then president, Jiang Zemin, to encourage the
adoption relationship between China and the U.S. Dave also served as
president of the National Council for Adoption in Washington, D.C. in 2000.
d. Staff
Our China adoption program staff have expert knowledge in China’s adoption requirements,
processes, Chinese adoption law and the workings of the CCAA's adoption
program. You work with one adoption coordinator throughout your entire
adoption journey. HFC China staff members hold bachelors and masters degrees
in Business, Child & Family Development, Social Work, Criminal Justice,
Registered Nurse, Public Health, and Counseling from well-respected
universities.
e. Approved by the Chinese Government
We are an adoption agency approved by the CCAA and we have always remained in
good standing with them. We have placed over 400 children from China with
loving parents. We have never compromised our standard of excellence. We
have almost daily contact with the CCAA through our full time agency
representative, Jophy, who lives in Guangzhou China.

Services
a. Program Options
HOPE for Children also has adoption programs in Colombia, Russia,
Ukraine, India, a Domestic
infant adoption program, and a
Home Study Department which allows us to have broad and specific knowledge
on adoption.
b. Adoption Education
HOPE for Children gives each family resources for adoption education and
training to thoroughly prepare them for their adoption.
c. Travel Groups
Our China travel groups are small and intimate. Most families will travel
with 2 to 4 other families. Our China travel always includes tours and
sightseeing of your child’s province and Guangzhou.
d. National Travel Representative
A bilingual agency travel representative living in China will greet each
family in China to assist with paperwork, translation and tours. HOPE for
Children is known for our outstanding, kind, personal and professional China
in-country representative. Because we have smaller travel groups, your
travel representative can give you the personal representation, care and
translation support that you need.
e. Costs
We work hard to keep our costs low yet offer more personal services to
our families. We keep our costs as low as possible because we believe that
more children can experience a loving home.
f. Discount for returning families
The application fee is waived for returning families.
g. Support Groups
HFC is committed to providing support for families during the entire
adoption process. We ensure that you are connected with families who are
going through the same phase of the adoption process. Many of our families
maintain friendships with these families long after their adoption is
finalized.
Communication
a. Personal Touch
HFC strives to build a family-like environment. You will have a dedicated
China adoption program staff member walk you through each phase of your adoption and
since superior service is our goal we seek and value your input to help us
improve the way we serve the families who will come after you.
b. Frequent Contact
Communication with our families is a priority at HFC. You will have
frequent personal contact with your China adoption program coordinator. Your phone
calls and emails are returned in 24 hours during the business week. It’s our
policy.
c. Updates
Updates on the China adoption program are posted frequently on our password
protected family log-in pages on our website, along with resources and
suggested reading materials to prepare you for your adoption.
