HOPE for Children, Inc. is happy to be able to provide high-quality and expedient Home Studies for Georgia families.

A Home Study is an educational process, just as adoption is a lifelong process. A Home Study is a document that is put together as a result of a series of interviews with prospective adoptive parents. Although this is a state requirement, at HOPE for Children, Inc. it is much more than just fulfilling a requirement. The document itself is only one third of what we are trying to accomplish. Of equal importance to us is educating adoptive parents about adoption issues, providing much needed training and resources and answering any questions that may come up. We also believe that this is the time when a relationship is begun between HOPE for Children, Inc. and the adoptive family, a relationship that we hope will continue long after the adoption takes place. Many times a special friendship is formed between the home study caseworker and a family as they begin their adoption journey. Usually it is that same caseworker that conducts the follow up post placement visits that are required.

We believe that it is important for families adopting internationally to understand the history and culture of that country. International adoption requires a sense of adventure, a willingness to take risks and a desire to learn the special needs of children from other countries. Your case worker will also address these particular issues during the Home Study process.
