We at HOPE for Children tried the traditional ways of fundraising  such as car washes and baking sales. However, in an attempt to raise needed funds, we partnered with the Guinness Book of World Records and produced the Barbados World Records Festival.

The festival was held annually in March in 2006 and 2007 at the Barbados National Stadium. However in 2008 it was moved to November.  It’s the first and  only festival in the Caribbean challenging records in the Guinness Book of World Records.

 

 

 

 

 

 

“The WORLD RECORD Festival Is a great family charity event”

 

It promotes Community spirit. culture . family fun .  tourism . positive youth effort. social cohesiveness . sports and fitness . Corporate sponsors can benefit.

 

The Barbados World Record Festival was introduced in 2006 in connection with the Guinness World Record Association to raise funds for the charity and at the same time involved the communities across the island to promote camaraderie. Within the last two years this event did not receive the amount of participation from the public as anticipated. However, we have brought new personnel on board to make this event one of the biggest sporting events to be held in Barbados by 2012.
