Dear Birth Parent:
We would like to begin by telling
you how brave you are. The act of sacrificial love is seen in any parent
who contemplates giving their child for adoption. You are truly our hero!
We have been praying for the birth parents of the child the Lord has for us
- and you may be that parent. It is our heartfelt desire for you to stop
now and pray that the Lord will direct you to make the choice that will
fulfill the plan He has for your child, whether it be raising your child
yourself, giving your child to us, or even to another family, we want you to
make the decision the Lord has for you and your child.
We are David and Karen. Let us
share just a bit about ourselves with you. We have been married for over 20
years and we are best friends. We have a stable, happy home and are waiting
to welcome a child into our family. We know without a doubt that the Lord
has a child for us, we are just waiting for the Lord to deliver. We
anticipate meeting this child every day.
We have both maintained the same career for
almost as long as we have been married. David owns his own business and
Karen is in the legal profession. It is our desire to spend as much time as
possible with this child. While David’s hours are somewhat flexible we are
also considering possibly putting Karen’s career on hold until time for
school.
Our faith is very important to
us. We are very active in our Church and would definitely raise this child
in a Christian home. Through the years we have taught Sunday school and
worked in Vacation Bible School. We are looking forward to watching this
child grow up knowing Christ.
Our families consist of our
parents, brothers, sisters, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, aunts, uncles
and between both of us we have seven nieces and nephews ranging in age from
27 years to 11 months. Our parents are eager to welcome more grandchildren,
our siblings want to love more nieces or nephews, and our nieces and nephews
want cousins. We have a very supportive, loving extended family that is
almost as eager for us to have a child as we are ourselves.
Camping, fishing, traveling,
cruising - these are just a few things we do in our spare time. We enjoy
the great outdoors. We camp and fish with family and friends. We enjoy
traveling, whether it is to places close to home, around the States, or
overseas. We have traveled extensively. Cruising is also something we
truly enjoy doing together; it is a great way to see the world. We are
looking forward to having this child accompany us on family vacations.
Education is extremely important
to both of us. We will offer this child the best education available, from
pre-school to college. We encourage learning through reading, traveling,
exploring, and other everyday experiences. We also look forward to watching
this child develop interests of its own and are excited to see what areas of
interest that may be. We will give this child every opportunity to explore
and expand those interests, as well.
Our picture book is just a quick
look into our lives and the lives of our families and friends. If you would
like, we would be happy to meet you. We want to assure you that if you
choose us as adoptive parents to your child, we will make sure your child
knows of the sacrificial love you gave, and you will be their hero too!
