Judy
Dear Birthmother,
I want to thank you for your incredible gift
of life.
I admire you for your courage, and your love
for your child is evidenced by your unselfish act to allow another to love
and care for your child. The choice you are making is a difficult one, but
know that you are opening the door to so many possibilities!
My name is Judy, I have never been a parent,
but I have loved many
children. I come
from a large family. I have 2 older brothers and 2
younger sisters, 10 aunts and uncles on my
mother's side, and 4 aunts
and uncles on my father's side. I have
7 nieces and nephews, whom I
love with all my heart, tons of cousins, and
I am privileged to have
6 godchildren. Although we are scattered
across the States and
Canada, we are a close-knit family that
enjoys celebrating birthdays
and holidays together, especially Christmas
and Thanksgiving. Each
year with my brothers and sisters, we choose
one person's house to have
our Christmas get together. Last year
it was my turn at my house and
I cooked for 25 people! I can tell you
it was exhausting but so
much fun to have everyone in the same place.
Almost all my brothers and sisters have kids
now and I can picture
my own little one joining in the fun and
games with the other kids
one day. I can remember back in my 20's
wanting to adopt a child,
realizing that so many kids needed someone
to love and care for them,
whatever their situation was. I always
thought by now I might be
married and have children of my own, but my
life has not gone in that
direction. I live my life based on faith. I
believe in God and I know that
it's not by my will, nor my wanting a child
that it will happen, but only by
God's will in my life and His allowing me
the opportunity to become a
mother.
The greatest gift in my life is my mother,
who is my role model. She was
a strong and independent woman who loved us,
wanted only the best for
us, and made sure she always found time to
take us on vacation
somewhere each summer. I think she is the
reason I love to travel so
much today and experience new things. I want
to be able to give a
child those same experiences I had of
traveling to new and exciting
destinations and of being able to open a
child's mind to different cultures,
and see their eyes open wide in wonder and
amazement when they see
things they've never seen before.
I also highly value education and I would
make sure that I provided
the best from daycare to pre-school,
throughout their school years
to college and university. I come from a
strong family background of
professionals, a doctor, a lawyer, 2
engineers, and myself a nurse,
and I really do believe that a mind is a
terrible thing to waste. An
education is available to anyone who wants
to learn and I definitely
would instill in a child the attitude that
you need to work hard and apply
yourself to get ahead in life.
I also think recreational activities are
essential for any child, and I would
love to enroll a child in some things that I
didn't get to experience, like
going to camp, team sports like little
league and soccer, or maybe
gymnastics which I enjoyed when I was young.
Financially, I am a stable, organized and
responsible person, and although
I may not be "rich" in dollar value, I
believe I am "rich" in emotional
value, strong in character, fiercely loyal,
and willing to help anyone who
needs it. My greatest joy in life is to be
needed.
I want to be able to love a child, provide
direction and stability in
their life, and open the doors to as many
new and great opportunities
as I can. I am committed to caring and
providing a loving environment
for him or her. I believe your love to be
the cornerstone from where
she came from and the foundation on which
she is built, and my love
will be the bricks that will continue to
build her up as high as she can go.
My blessings to you and best wishes for the
future,
Judy
