Don and Tara
Dear Birthparent(s),
Our
names are Tara and Don and we would like to thank you for taking the time to
read about us and consider us as parents for your precious child. We both
long to have children and cannot wait to provide a loving home for a child.
It will be a home that is filled with lots of love, friends, family and
teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ. We want you to know that we are thinking
of you and praying for you during this very difficult decision. We admire
and respect you for loving your baby so much that you would consider his/her
future with an adoptive family.
We pray that the Lord will watch over you and
take good care of you.
We got
married in October of 1998 and have been married for seven happy years. We
love each other very much and we cannot imagine being with anyone else. We
are like best friends. We enjoy going out to eat, going to the movies, car
races, bowling, traveling and hanging out with friends and family, but one
of our favorite things to do is cook at home and lie on the couch together
and watch our favorite shows on TV. We attend a small church where everyone
is very friendly and everyone is welcome. We like to travel and we
especially love the beach and we look forward to sharing that with a child.
After about a year of trying to conceive without success, we saw several
specialists only to find out that we could not conceive children on our own
which made us heartbroken. After praying about it we decided that adoption
was the answer for us. We chose not to have treatments and are very happy
with our decision to adopt. We realize that God has a plan for us and that
plan is to adopt. We are very excited and looking forward to extending our
family.
Don
about Tara: What can I say about Tara? She has been more than my wife of
seven years; she has been my best friend and help mate. She has exemplified
the utmost truth of “for better or worse, in sickness and in health”. She
has stood beside me through the good and bad. She has so much passion for
life, whether it be lounging on the beach somewhere or taking photographs of
a mountain range. She enjoys these things immensely as well as hanging out
with family and friends.
Tara
about Don: Don is my best friend and a wonderful husband. I knew I was going
to spend the rest of my life with him the first time we met. I just love
his great sense of humor. He is thoughtful, kind, loving and is a hard
worker. He fits into my family well and I remember telling my mom “He’s just
like us”. In his free time, Don enjoys golfing, playing the guitar and
working in the yard. Don enjoys spending time with his friends and family.
He will be a great father because he is so much fun to be around. He loves
to cut up and just have a good time, but he also knows when to take things
seriously.
We
live in a small sub-division in the country and we love it there because
it’s nice and quiet. There are always children playing outside and riding
their bikes. We live in a three bedroom; two bathroom house. Our home is not
very big, but we take pride in how our home looks. We have a nice spacious
backyard that is perfect to play in. We enjoy celebrating holidays in our
home such as Christmas, Halloween and birthdays. We have good schools in our
area and intend to provide the best education we can.
Our
families mean a lot to us. We both come from very loving homes. We get to
visit our parents several times a year. Tara has a younger brother and Don
has an older brother and sister. Both of our families are excited for a new
baby to enter the family. They are all supportive of our adoption process.
Tara has experience with adoption in her family as she has four adopted
cousins and has also witnessed one of her cousins placing her baby for
adoption. We both feel blessed to come from such wonderful families.
We
consider ourselves blessed to have the opportunity to adopt a child.
Starting a family is one of the most important things in our life and giving
a child parents that love them, nurture them and encourage them in their
everyday life and give them the support and guidance they need. We intend to
encourage a child to pursue their dreams and we will support them in
whatever they choose to do in their life. We plan to share their adoption
story and to let them know how much they are loved beginning at a very early
age. We know there will be a lot of questions the child will have and we
plan to answer them all to the best of our ability and be there to comfort
them. It is important to us that a child learns about the teachings of Jesus
and what he has done for us. We believe in taking a child to church and
doing fun activities at church with other children and raising them in a
Christian home. The most important thing to us is to give a child a place of
peace, happiness, health and most of all love.
We
cannot even begin to imagine how difficult this is for you, but we want you
to know that you are truly in our hearts and prayers. We will be praying for
you and your baby as you are going through the adoption process.
May
God Bless You!
Tara
and Don
